This is not a very trendy and busy place but I feel lucky that I went and tried this place.
The atmosphere is good, and the staff is polite and helpful and the quality of the food was really good.
I had fish and chips (halibut) and it was better quality than some more trendy and famous fish and chips places in Edmonton.
I'll definitely go back there and I recommend this place.

Hi this is a located in mill woods. A nice clean restaurant. The prices I found very a little higher then other places. I had ordered the haddock which was three pieces for 20.00 with fries.
What came was kinda a hard/chicken textured fish. It had the smell of fish tho! But didn't taste like the normal fish. It was so so.
Anyways, it was my first time getting haddock normally I get halibut. The fries had a stale after taste to it.  For some odd reason, they were not as delicious as the fries you get with fish and chips. The salad was good. The portion size was good.
Now I got my bill and was charged for halibut !! That fish DID not taste like halibut And when I brought up that I had ordered the haddock she denied I did. Anyways it's fine but my god I could not believe that fish was halibut! She then told me it might be cause it's frozen! I am sorry! Frozen fish that must be in the freezer for so long it lost its taste. Now that I think about it, it must have been freezer burnt!
Please if you go there MAKE UR ORDER VERY CLEAR! AND EXPECT FREEZER BURNT DEEP FRIED FISH!!!Ans honestly I have had fish in BC anD ON so maybe my expectations are higher then normal, but not happening again here!

It was not the best, but not the worst I've had.  Something was off about the tartare sauce though.  Luckily I had some at home that I could switch it out for.

My experience was an interesting one.  It was good friday.  My mother won't eat meat on Fridays during lent and besides a grilled cheese sandwich, I wasn't sure what else I could make at home without meat, so I decided to grab some fish and chips on my way home around 5 pm.

To be perfectly honest... this was not my first choice.  I wanted Brit's Fish & Chips, but I was too far south by the time I realized then.  Then I thought I'd stop at Wendy's for their Cod Sandwich, but they don't sell it anymore.  I have lived close to this neighbourhood for a long time, and worked in the area for quite a while... I've always been aware of Pan's, but never bothered going in.  Well, this was finally the time to check it out.

The interior is pretty small.  There is only about 11 tables, plus one large booth that is reserved for people waiting for their takeout orders.  I learned a valuable lesson here - always call ahead to place a takeout order.  I ordered 2 2 piece cod and chips to go shortly after 5 pm.  I was told there would be a 20 minute wait.  That made sense because every table was occupied, so they were clearly busy.  Once I sat down and waited for my order, I realized that a large number of tables did not have their order taken yet.

Here's the problem.  There was only one lady working the front of house.  she was responsible for taking all the takeout orders, both by phone and in person, also taking payments, AND waiting on the tables inside.  That was way too much for one person to be doing on such a busy day.  And I heard her say to a customer "it's Good Friday.... that's fish day!" So it seems that they were aware that it would be a busy day.

I sat there and looked around at the tables... nobody seemed irritated or upset at the fact that they were waiting an exceptionally long time to place their orders or receive their drinks.... so I figured they must know something I don't know.  This must be the best fish in the city! (wrong)

Although I was quoted 20 minutes, it was almost 40 minutes before my order was ready.  I wasn't even upset though, because the lady was so nice.

Once I got home though, I was disappointed.  The fish was nowhere near as good as Brit's fish n chips.  It was oddly rectangular shaped and the batter was not very crispy.

And as I said at the beginning, the tartare sauce had a really strange taste and I couldn't eat it.

Nothing was specifically awful, but I'll go out of my way to go to Brit's from now on.

Went here for the first time with my sister the other day, she had the halibut and I had the pollock. In my honest opinion I think the food is great, the fish had a really crisp outer batter and the fish inside was nice and moist. This spot is a really local sort of place, only 2 people work in the joint, I believe a husband and wife, husband does all the cooking and wife serves and hosts. Truly a hidden gem in the south east side.

I was not a huge fan of fish and chips until I came across Pan's! Pans Fish & Chip's is simple. It's in the name. If you're looking for a rock star fish and chips meal at a good price and value.. This is the spot.
